Project overview

Our clients came to us after purchasing a steep section in Pyes Pa.

The goal was to create a spacious home for a family of five, leveraging the steep section to maximise house area and capture views from most rooms.

They found us online after seeing some recent architectural builds we had completed on sloping sections in Tauranga. We met with them onsite to discuss their vision and budget and introduced them to a local architect we had used on similar sites. The initial designs were bang on, only requiring minor adjustments before we submitted them to the council. Within eight months, we were through council and breaking ground.

Being involved early in the design phase and using our previous experience helped us deliver a seamless experience for our clients and complete the project in under 12 months.

Architectural and design features

The home features a front entrance with a screen wall, multiple Kwila decks on three levels, raking ceilings in the lounge, kitchen, entrance, and living areas, and a split-level design. This approach allowed us to turn the challenging terrain into an advantage, providing the family with a unique, functional, and beautiful living space.

Unique elements

This project stands out due to its smart use of a steep section, allowing us to create a home with multiple levels and extensive use of space. The split-level design maximises the area of the house while capturing stunning views from most rooms. The high raking ceilings and multiple Kwila decks enhance the sense of space and connection with the outdoors.

The combination of Linea oblique vertical weatherboard and Vulcan Cladding with Sioo Coating gives the exterior a distinctive, modern look that is both durable and aesthetically pleasing. Inside, the use of high-quality materials and thoughtful design ensures that every room is functional, stylish, and perfectly suited to the needs of a growing family.
